Description
Due to the massive growth in the greater Table View area, including Dunoon and Parklands, the City has seen an increased need for an additional Revenue Customer Care and MVRL office. The nearest offices were Milnerton and Atlantis, resulting in long queues and the City’s offices, especially the Milnerton MVRL office, being overloaded.
This new office is an example of how the City is doing everything in its power to bring services closer to its residents.
It will handle motor vehicle licence renewals and vehicle registrations, all enquires relevant to rates and services, and accept payments for municipal accounts and traffic fines. Additionally, the revenue office will handle rates rebates and indigent applications as well as payment arrangements, refunds and rates relief. It will also sell pre-paid electricity and solid waste disposal coupons, among other services and transactions.
The office is expected to handle between 900 and 2 000 transactions each day.
‘We are dedicated to making our services more accessible to our residents and are working to secure additional, similar opportunities in other areas in the City. We are transforming how our City works to make it a more customer-centric, responsive organisation which serves all of the people of Cape Town.
‘We are particularly pleased that the office will facilitate debt arrangements, applications for indigent registrations and rates rebates for senior citizens and those with special needs. Offering these services to residents at their doorstep is especially heartening as this demonstrates the difference that this kind of customer service can make to the lives of our more vulnerable residents.
