Description
La Tête restaurant opened in November 2016 in Cape Town. This is the culinary dream of two brothers, Giles and James Edwards.
Giles trained as a chef in Cape Town before moving to London in 2005, to join his brother James, who was working in finance.
After an initial stint at 1 Lombard Street, Giles found his feet at renowned seafood restaurant J Sheekey in Covent Garden.
Whilst the seafood was good, it was the lure of the legendary Fergus Henderson’s Nose-to-Tail philosophy that drew the brothers to St John Restaurant in Clerkenwell, London.
Seven years in this renowned establishment ensued. Giles worked shoulder to shoulder with Fergus and assisted him in launching what has been described as the “great British food revolution”.
Fast forward to 2013 – the brothers are on safari, driving long hours through the Central Kalahari.
The plan is hatched, and the duo decide to bring what they love to Cape Town. La Tête is born.
