McDonald's opened its first restaurant in South Africa in November 1995.
Today, McDonald's operates 200 restaurants in nine of South Africa's provinces - Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Free State, Limpopo, North West and Northern Cape.
Currently more than 97% of all food served in McDonald's restaurants is produced by local South African suppliers to McDonald's highest quality standards.
