The Reader is a proudly South African company offering a wide selection of optical quality, trendy reading glasses retailing at R350 across the majority of models. Our head office and flagship store are based in the beautiful and cosmopolitan Cape Town. What Makes us different?! -Our Readers are designed by an optometrist – FUNCTION i.e. visual comfort and accuracy is first and foremost when producing our readers. FASHION is a close second. -We use only optical quality lenses which are polycarbonate and aspheric in design. This means thinner, flatter and more light weight lenses. It also means reduced magnification so one’s eye doesn’t look like Cyclops to somebody looking at a wearer. Lenses are centered which allows for fixed PDs which is aids in clearer distortion free vision. -We have a large collection of styles and colours to choose from. We design and style our readers to be trendy and fun, taking inspiration from the high end optical world and current retail and general hot trends -The Reader supplies regular readers, sun readers , sun bifocal readers as well as lens cleaner spray, cases, micro fiber cloths and various other accessories to cover all reading glass requirements
